I am so grateful to the Museum of the San Fernando Valley for giving me this retrospective entitled “PUBLIC SETTINGS Private Conversations . . .”. My works have always centered on people in places of communal exchange around LA County. These works created between 1998 and 2017 highlight the diversity of the people of the San Fernando Valley as seen in various settings. Paintings of Barbershops, my neighborhood, Cal State University Northridge, Malls and Cafes will be on view. These are the places I chose to sketch at, fascinated by the people and the conversations.
The exhibition will run from March 24 thru June 30. Free admission. My artwork will be for sale during the time of the exhibition. A print of a work from the exhibition can be arranged thru the museum. Free event and free parking. Elevator access. Light food, wine and beverages provided. RSVP is required.
